Unfortunately, even though the majority of Alabama drivers do their best to drive safely and avoid problems on the road, car accidents happen to even the most careful drivers. These car accidents can result in property damage, serious injury and even death. As such, they take a heavy toll on our communities, families and friends. Indeed, they create a feeling of pain and loss that never goes away for those who have been affected.
In a recent three-vehicle car accident that occurred in Monroe County, two individuals were killed. Alabama State Police reported that a 46-year-old man from Monroeville died after his vehicle collided with two other automobiles along U.S. 84. The fatal car accident occurred approximately 11 miles outside of Monroeville.
In addition to the death of the 46-year-old Monroeville man, a 67-year-old woman from Frisco City was also killed. The driver of the third vehicle was fortunate to survive. However, state troopers have not released any further information regarding the crash, and they are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the incident.
Whenever fatal car accidents occur on Alabama roadways, authorities try to investigate the incident to determine what exactly may have caused the incident. Car accidents can be caused by driver error, drunk driving, distracted driving and a wide variety of other factors that have nothing to do with any of the drivers involved. For example, there have been numerous recalls relating to dangerous automotive defects that have caused fatal car accidents.
Once police investigations are completed, those who were injured and family members of those who are killed may wish to investigate whether they have valid claims for personal injury damages in this case. Should an individual or family choose to pursue a personal injury and/or wrongful death claim for restitution in court against the person or organization deemed responsible for a car crash, compensation pursuable may include money for pain and suffering, medical care and other damages.
