There could be a dangerous fuel pump issue in approximately 136,057 Honda and Acura vehicles in the U.S. American Honda is recalling those vehicles, all of them 2018, 2019 and 2020 models, due to a fuel pump that may have been exposed to solvents during the manufacturing process.
If the pump was exposed to the solvents, it could crack and ultimately fail. This could lead to a sudden loss of power or stall, which could cause the car to crash.
In a press release, Honda said that it has not received any reports of injuries or crashes due to the defective pump. However, it encourages owners to schedule a free replacement for the pump as soon as possible. Recall notification letters will go to owners in late July.

Unsure if your car is affected?
You can always check whether your vehicle is subject to a recall by obtaining your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and plugging it into NHTSA’s recall website. You can find your VIN in several places on the vehicle, including just inside the driver’s side door and at the base of the windshield near the steering wheel. Because recalls are common and can affect older vehicles, we recommend you check back regularly.
