Alabama authorities looking for F-150 pickup after fatal crash

Alabama authorities have more information about the hit-and-run accident that left one dead and three injured on Interstate 65 on June 18. The Alabama State Troopers say they have new evidence and believe that the vehicle that left the scene of the fatal accident was a dark-colored 1998 to 2004 model Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The survivors of the accident, in which the pickup struck an SUV near the Alabama Welcome Center before speeding off, were all females. They included the 44-year-old driver from Fayetteville, a 12-year-old and a 72-year-old. A MedFlight helicopter transported one of the victims to the hospital. State troopers closed all lanes of traffic to allow the helicopter to land safely. A 69-year-old passenger from Tennessee thrown from the SUV died at the scene, and a man who stopped to help said the Tennessee man’s daughter and grandchild were trapped inside the SUV.

The man who stopped to help reportedly got back into his car and drove ahead to see if the driver who caused the accident had stopped along the interstate. State troopers asked the public for help to find the driver of the pickup truck that sped away from the crash scene. They say that someone might have an acquaintance or neighbor who owns a truck similar to that one, and they have also asked automotive body repair shops to let them know if someone brings in a similar truck for repairs. The man who tried to help has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

People who lose a loved one in a fatal accident might have a right to file a wrongful death lawsuit. A personal injury lawyer may help grieving family members understand and consider their legal options for possibly holding the negligent party accountable for their loss.

"They took a case that others would have stayed clear of.."
I have the utmost respect for Rip Andrews and the lawyers at MRB Law. They took a case that others would have stayed clear of because the issue of state immunity was involved. Through determination and unwavering commitment they were able to a find resolution to an extremely difficult matter.

"They...brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict ."
These lawyers took a complicated issue, revealed the truth in a way 12 jurors unfamiliar with the topic could understand, and brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict. They were able to relate my “invisible” medical condition to the jury better than I can to my own friends. And because of that, the jury hugged me and cried with me when it was all over. That meant more to me than any amount of money.
