Failure to see motorcycle results in fatality

Individuals who own motorcycles often recall instances where they narrowly escaped being involved in a crash or collision. Due to their size, speed and ability to easily maneuver through traffic, motorcycles can be difficult for other motorists to see. When a driver fails to see a motorcyclist, the resulting motorcycle accident can result in serious injuries and even death.

A 62-year-old man recently died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a pickup truck. The accident occurred on an Alabama highway when the 40-year-old driver of the pickup truck failed to see the approaching motorcycle.

The 40-year-old was about to make a turn onto the road on which the 62-year-old motorcyclist was traveling. The 40-year-old pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The62-year-old man was unable to avoid the pickup truck and crashed into the back of the truck.

The 62-year-old man was killed in the crash. Police continue to investigate the crash and potential contributing causes.

This tragic accident occurred during the mid-afternoon on a day when weather conditions were normal. It’s not yet clear if the 40-year-old driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, which may account for his careless actions.

Another potential reason for the man’s negligent actions is that he did not see the motorcycle or misjudged the speed and distance at which it was traveling.

The family of the man who was killed may chose to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the pickup truck. Wrongful death claims can help families recover compensation to cover expenses often associated with an unexpected and tragic death such as this.

"They took a case that others would have stayed clear of.."
I have the utmost respect for Rip Andrews and the lawyers at MRB Law. They took a case that others would have stayed clear of because the issue of state immunity was involved. Through determination and unwavering commitment they were able to a find resolution to an extremely difficult matter.

"They...brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict ."
These lawyers took a complicated issue, revealed the truth in a way 12 jurors unfamiliar with the topic could understand, and brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict. They were able to relate my “invisible” medical condition to the jury better than I can to my own friends. And because of that, the jury hugged me and cried with me when it was all over. That meant more to me than any amount of money.
